Multiple Choice

A: Farmer A says that you need the engine to be at operating temperature first before you turn on the heater but put the fan speed on high.
B: Farmer B believes the same as Farmer A but chimes in that the fan speed needs to be on low. If it is too high, it will cool the engine back down.
C: Farmer C tells the others that you need to run the hottest thermostat possible for quick heat.
D: Farmer D instructs the others to put the heater on the maximum temperature setting with the fan on the lowest speed as soon as you start the engine.

Multiple Choice

A: Farmer A says the de-compression valve is most likely carboned-up and is leaking.
B: Farmer B believes that the piston rings are worn.
C: Farmer C is adamant about it being the gasoline.
D: Farmer D feels it is the magneto.

A: Farmer A says that most likely the fuel shut off mechanism in the injection pump stuck when it got hot and that is why the engine would not restart.
B: Farmer B told you that the battery must be weak even though you said the engine cranked over properly.
C: Farmer C says that with it so hot outside the engine oil must have overheated and the piston rings lost their seal until it cooled down.
D: Farmer D tells you to get a cellphone and keep your wife happy.

A: Farmer A says that you must have read the brochure incorrectly. The engine would run too rich that way.
B: Farmer B tells you it is to keep the intake valves clean.
C: Farmer C is sure that these new engines make so much power that each cylinder needs two injectors.
D: Farmer D thinks he read that it is for reliability. If one set fails, the engine will still run.

Multiple Choice

A: Farmer A says that he is not surprised. These old cars did not have much insulation and your wife is used to newer vehicles.
B: Farmer B says, “lets take a look”. You both look under the Camaro and that is where the catalytic converter is. He tells you that is what she was feeling.
C: Farmer C agrees with Farmer B but tells you that is not normal. The floor should not get hot. The carburetor mixture is too rich.
D: Farmer D says not to worry about it and just buy her a pair of work boots!
