Hi Ray,
Great show about breaking in an engine. Reminded me of a wrecker at a shop I worked at back in the 70’s. The engine blew so we pulled an engine out of an old Caprice literally owned by a little old lady. That engine didn’t last long so we pulled an engine out of a wrecked Monte Carlo that obviously was driven hard. That engine was still running strong long after I left that shop. Gotta treat those new engines how they are going to be run. Love the podcast.
Sincerely,
Bruce Jakubauskas.
Bruce,
Thanks so much for the kind words and you are correct…. baby it when new and it will be a wuss and not long for this world. When I had my shop, I had a customer with a 1985 305 TPI Firebird that he drove hard (really beat!) since day one. It had about 200,000 miles, was never apart and would put every stock 350 on the trailer. My buddy was the service manager for an Acura dealer and he came around with a new NSX. I raced him with the old F-Body… the Poncho ate the Japanese wonder car. Thanks so much for listening. Have a blessed day. Ray
