This episode of Idle Chatter aired in the early days of the podcast. The introduction and audio are a little different from what I use today. The information is timeless, foundational, and just as relevant to your success.
Agriculture runs on machinery… but profits on reliability!
Thanks for listening, Ray Bohacz… the Hot Rod Farmer
Ethanol is being demonized by those with an agenda.
Fight back by learning the truth from Ray Bohacz, The Hot Rod Farmer.
I live in southern Nevada an here in Las Vegas we only have 91 octane as our super high test. I listened to your podcast about fuels, so I have an understanding what the octane rating numbers mean. I have a 1989 Firebird Formula with a 355 and 11.8:1 compression and a 2018 Mustang GT with a 5.0 liter and 12.0:1 compression. Both cars are computer controlled and both are reducing timing due to the low octane rating to prevent pinging.
When I go to the auto parts store I see different brands of octane boosters. My question is, do these products work and can there be any damage to the engine after prolonged usage?
I listen every week and I’m getting a wonderful education about all things mechanical.
Thanks so much for listening and for sending in your question. It is best for me to answer it in the next week or so in the Special Delivery segment of the Idle Chatter podcast. I can provide the most in-depth answer that way. I will let you know when my answer runs. Thanks! Ray
