Making a hydraulic bench from a 3-stage cylinder.
February 28, 2020One of our listeners made this impressive hydraulic bench from a 3-stage cylinder from a Caterpillar quarry truck.

I put compressed air into an oil tank and fed pressurized oil into the cylinder thru a spring loaded ball valve. The top is a 4’ X 6’ 1/2” plate. With 150 PSI of air I calculated it will lift 3,500 lbs. It drops flush to the floor so I can drive my lawn mower onto it and it lifts about 4 1/2’.

I have an old 28 ‘ JD 100 field cultivator. I cannot get the main cylinder To pressurize the slaves cylinders on the wings. The main cylinder is an aftermarket; it works fine, but I suspect there is some John Deere valving that the aftermarket does not have. Can I use a T set up to on the main cylinder to send pressure to those slave cylinders?
