Did you ever wonder where the do and don’t of some machinery repair procedures come from since they make no sense? Often they are the product of a lawyer and not an engineer. This week, the Hot Rod Farmer examines some common examples of this folly.
I found your discussion about rod-to-stroke ratio very fascinating! I’ve read about how a short rod’s sharp angularity can cause wear on the bore and piston, but I have never heard it explained that a long rod will cause the piston to dwell longer at TDC. Makes perfect sense to me. Keep on sharing your depth of information.
Sincerely,
Glendon
